Hello! Welcome to my website, my name is Noah Norman. I am a Journalism major at the University of Houston. I am a huge fan of anything sports and I love to watch movies. I am very interested in sports broadcasting and sports commentating. My goal is to one day work in the world of sports and learn from the people I've grown up admiring. I created this domain to showcase school projects and demonstrate new skills I've acquired in the world of news. Join me as I grow and explore the exciting world of journalism.
Concept Exercises
Over the course of the semester, we have been tasked with concept exercises that incorporate many different aspects of news. Here in this section, there will be links to all four projects I completed with help from group members.
Third Place Reporting
Our first Concept Exercise was all about third-place reporting. My team was tasked with interviewing students around campus to find a story underneath the surface. We narrowed our search down to Senior student, Zubby, and her journey through college.

For our second Concept Expercise, the class had to pick an interesting topic that related to Houston for an explainer social media video. Me and my team partner, Thomas, decided to cover the University of Houston's emergency weather system. We got to sit down for a great interview with the Director of Emergency Management for U of H.

The third Concept Exercise was all about creating a podcast with group members. My team pitched the podcast to be about hookup culture in college and how it affects students.

The last Concept Exercise was to create a historical interactive timeline. I chose to do my timeline over the best season the University of Houston Cougar football team has ever had. The timeline goes over the 2014-2015 season that featured the longest win streak in school history.
